This text will introduce to you the facts and rules of cricket to help understand it better. The game of cricket is played between 2 groups and each team has eleven players. The team may employ a substitute if a player is wounded and if he recovers he may come back on to the pitch. Cricket has 2 referees that enforce the guidelines, make and judge calls. There are also 2 scorers that keep the score for both groups. In cricket the ball is 22.4 to 22.9cm in diameter and weights between 155 to 163 grams. The cricket bat is 96.5 long and 10.8 wide. The cricket wicket / pitch is twenty-two yards long and 10ft wide. The wickets themselves are made from three stumps, which are twenty-eight inches tall and nine inches wide with 3 bails on top. The bowling crease is 8.8ft long and as wide as the wicket, it is centered on the stumps. The condition of the pitch should be very good or good and ideally should give an even bounce.
Cricket is played for 1 or 2 innings depending on the sort of match. The innings is over when all the batsmen are out, or the innings is forfeit, or if the limit of over’s or time is reached as concluded by the 2 captains. A 'follow-on' happens in a 2 innings match when a team that's batting doesn't reach the limit for runs to permit them to play on. This is when they're behind the fielding team by 200 runs for a test match, 150 for a three day match and seventy five runs for a one day match. The batting team then has to hit again at the subtlety of the other team. The captain of the batting team may have the authority to end the innings whenever the ball isn't in play. There should be atleast 10 minute break between each innings, and there also are breaks for lunch, tea and drinks as concluded by the captains, after that the play is started again by the referees. In the final hour the fielding team must bowl at least twenty over’s. The groups may practice before or after the game at the referee's subtlety. The batting team scores a run or runs when both batsman cross and reach the opposing end of the wicket without getting out. If the ball goes over the boundary and doesn't bounce the batting team get six runs, if it does bounce then they get 4 runs. The team that gets the most runs is the winner. If both get the same quantity of runs it's a draw. Each over is six bowls long and then the following over is from the other end of the wicket. If the batsman is not in a position to hit the ball from where he stands then the ball is wide this implies that the batting team gets an additional run. There's also a no ball when the ball rebounds more than one time on the way to the wicket when it's been bowled or the bowler doesn't bowl in the correct way. That gives the batting team an additional run. When the bowler bowls he may not put his foot over the crease and his arm must go over his shoulder and not bend. If the ball isn't hit when bowled, but the batsmen scores a run it is referred to as a bye, but the batsman must play a shot. If the batsman makes a run when he has attempted to hit the ball but it has bounced off his pad then it is known as a leg bye. The batsman is out if the ball is caught before it has hit the ground when he has hit it. He's out if the bowler knocks off the bails when the ball is bowled. The batsman is out if the bails are knocked off when he's out of the crease and the ball is in play. The batsman is out if he is not prepared to face the ball in 3 mins from the last batsman being out. The batsman is out if he, hits the ball twice or gets hit by the ball after it is bowled and when it might have hit the wicket if he didn't get in the way of it. The batsman is out when he intentionally obstructs the fielding team when the ball is in play. The batsman is out when he's run out when the ball hits the wicket when he's not in the crease when he's running between the wickets. The wicket keeper stands behind the wicket and is able to wear gloves and pads. He'll stump the batsman thru knocking off the bails when the batsman isn't in the crease. When ten out the eleven batsmen are out, or the quantity of concluded overs or hours are finished, the innings is finished. The team which has the most runs at the end of the 1 or 2 innings are the winners. The quantity of over’s and innings is concluded between the 2 groups at the beginning of the game.
