Madden National Football League is an American Football Video game series developed by Electronic Arts Tiburon for EA Sports. The game is named after Pro Football Hall of Famer John Madden, a well known previous Super Bowl-winning coach and color commentator. The 1st version of the game was revealed in 1989 for the Apple II series of PCs and titled John Madden Football.
The development team originally wanted the game to have 6 or seven-player groups, but Madden asserted on having eleven players per team, stating "I'm not putting my name on it if it is not real.

Madden NFL 2007
In Madden NFL 2007, EA introduced Lead Blocker Controls which permit users to manipulate blockers during running plays. Additionally, EA redefined the Van Stick into the Highlight Stick.
Rather than just bowling over defenders, users can have their running backs perform different running moves and combos, with the Highlight Stick. Van Stick features not exist for smaller backs that would never realistically use them anyhow, but exist for bigger backs. Instead, more flexible backs perform acrobatic ducks and dodges to avoid tackles.

Madden NFL 2008
